We’ve kicked off the New Year with one of our favourite events—a bake-off! This annual tradition never fails to bring out the creativity and competitive spirit of the teams. Since our last update, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming new volunteers to our team, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their involvement. Volunteers truly are the backbone of our charity; their dedication brings energy and fresh ideas to everything we do. Whether helping with farm maintenance, event planning, or community outreach, their contributions make a real difference. If you’ve ever thought about getting involved, we’d love to hear from you! Every volunteer brings something unique, helping to make Heathfield Farm the warm and welcoming place it is.

Behind the scenes, our staff have been working tirelessly to prepare for the upcoming planting season. This year, we’re particularly excited to implement a no-dig growing method in our polytunnels—an approach that promotes healthier soil, reduces weeds, and enhances biodiversity. To support our sustainable efforts, we’ve recently added three new compost bays, ensuring that our farm remains as eco-friendly as possible. Thanks to a generous donation of roofing sheets, our potting shed is now also nearing completion, providing a much-needed addition to our growing field.
