We are a small, dedicated and multi-skilled team who share a love of the outdoors and helping others. We are close and always supportive of each other which is why coming to Heathfield Farm fells like being part of a family. We are positive, non-judgemental and use a person-centred approach towards supporting our attendees.
Support workers
Vicky is our Senior Support Worker. She plans and oversees the daily activities on the farm. She has several years of experience within the care industry. She has a can-do attitude and is always happy to have a go at anything and get stuck in..
Alex has a background in forestry and as a special needs teacher. He is passionate about woodwork and conservation. He enjoys cooking on the fire and making creative use of natural resources. He’s definitely not as scary as he looks!
Leanne and her Portuguese dog joined the team at Heathfield in Sept ’24. They have travelled around Europe and the UK working on farms and settled in Devon 5 years ago. Leanne loves anything to do with food; growing it, cooking it and eating it most of all! Her dog enjoys chasing rabbits and hoovering up any crumbs that might drop on the floor.
A few of our volunteers
We would not be able to function without all the hard work put in by all our wonderful volunteers. They contribute a huge amount of time and effort and help to create the lovely atmosphere at the farm that we’re so proud of.
Anne has been a volunteer at the farm since it started. She especially loves cooking and craft activities – we get spoiled if Anne is in the kitchen! Anne always goes out of her way to help others and nothing is ever too much trouble.
Jo works as a handyman/builder and has a degree in fine art. He’s currently making us some compost loos and has managed to source all the materials for nothing! He loves making things, growing vegetables, genuine acts of kindness and has a dislike of Peanut Butter!
Tracey doesn’t come as often as she’d like but when she does, she brightens up the farm with her humour and colourful and creative pieces of artwork – She designed our ‘A place to grow’ logo.

The office staff
For those who have visited the farm, you will have seen the static caravan near the car park. This is our office! Whilst the temperature and weather can be quite unforgiving in there, we are blessed with stunning views.
Farm manager
Matt is our farm manager. He loves working in such a beautiful setting and has great plans for the farm. If you can’t find him in the office, then he’s most likely to be around the site checking in on everyone or talking to the ponies.
Charity administrator
Marion plays an essential role in the day to day running of the farm and likes to keep Matt on his toes! She likes saying hello to everyone in the morning and if she has some spare time, she enjoys joining in with the farm activities.
